Traffic interns

Being an intern and learning interesting things is great, but being a Traffic intern in Degordian is something special.

What’s it like being a Traffic Intern at Degordian? What do you do?

Bruno:  Being an intern and learning interesting things is great, but being a Traffic intern in Degordian is something special.

Basically, our job is to help our Traffic managers with their daily tasks. Tasks vary from complicated to easy ones which we do routinely. There’s so many of them, that counting all the tasks of the Traffic team would take a whole day. What we do is somewhat hard to explain, but let’s put it this way – we drive Traffic to the desired destination, we find new fans, we bring visits to web sites and web shops and much more. In the end, we measure all of that data so every new campaign becomes better and better.

Eva: Working in Traffic is hard work that pays off. I’m amazed on how much there is to learn on a daily basis. We get to see how things quickly change and progress as new information and technologies arrive. The fun part is that we get to play with them. :)

As an intern, I first started working on Facebook campaigns which I was already familiar with. I soon started working with Google AdWords and studying for Google certificates. Also, I learned to understand Google Analytics as working on various reports required my understanding of it. Learning things step by step and taking time to understand what you have to do is a crucial part of the job. You get that time at Degordian.

Ivan: As Traffic Interns, we participate in coming up with creative copy for the ad campaigns, setting up ad campaigns and finally, optimizing those ad campaigns to achieve the best possible results. We also create reports and detailed analysis of the results of the ad campaigns when they come to an end.

Learning is crucial as there’s always something new regarding Facebook ads, Google AdWords, Google Analytics or Newsletters every day. It’s very interesting and dynamic as new stuff and features come out all the time. There’s always room to learn something new. :)

What’s it like working in the Degordian Traffic Team? Specifically, how do you like your team and what do you like in working with others at Degordian?

Bruno: Working in traffic team is a great learning experience through fun.

We’re just like all the other young, ambitious and curious girls and boys. As we’re all students, we have to work like a team so everyone can have time to study for the exams and go to work without thinking about other things. It can be hard sometimes, but we always find a way to do it. We always do our best. It doesn’t matter if we’re in a rush hour and we work like maniacs or we have an easy day and things are happening slower. Usually, it’s always a rush hour in Traffic.

Working with other Degordians is very important. It’s easier if people understand what you are trying to do for them and their brands. If they don’t, everyone finds the time to listen and learn. It works both ways. You can learn something from every discussion in order to achieve great results.

Work environment and atmosphere is always positive. Great thing about Traffic is that every day has its own soundtrack. This week we rocked David Bowie, The Doors and Sting. Last week we rocked 2Pac and Biggie Smalls. It’s fun. :)

Eva: It’s all about the Team – we work hard to do our best, but we also have a lot of fun. Being a part of the Team is the most important part of the job and, luckily, the easiest, ‘cause we all get along very well.

Everybody tries to be helpful and make everyone’s day a bit better. It may sound too good to be true, but it’s the little things that count, such as bringing someone coffee or sliced fruit, or even waiting a few minutes to have lunch together. As I already mentioned, it’s hard work that requires great focus in one hand and creativity in other. We are all aware of it and try to keep the stress level to a minimum.

Ivan: I think I joined the best team at Degordian. :D

The team has a lot of patience and gives their best effort to explain anything we need. They all have a great approach. I can only say the best for them.

It’s very laid back and pleasant to work every day. We listen to various styles of music while eating fresh strawberries, cakes, ice cream, or enjoying a cup of coffee. There’s an occasional rubber bullet or a ball flying around. Anyways, time goes by really fast in Traffic. :)

How will working as a Traffic Intern help build your career?

Bruno: Traffic team is a great place to start the career as there’s a little bit of everything. There’s reporting, copywriting, optimizing, finding out who is the best target for your goal, Google Analytics and much more. Every platform has it’s own rules so you have to constantly learn if you want to work in Traffic.

You can easily find something that interests you the most and work on being the best for it. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to work with deadlines, how to find solutions for problems and how to work in a team.

Eva: Whether I continue working in Traffic management, digital marketing, web or advertising related work, my internship at Degordian will give me firm foundations and knowledge on Facebook and Google advertising, as well as Google Analytics and more. It’s all about the effort you put in.

Sure, you can go to work, do everything you’re asked to do and go home. But if you are not eager about the work you do, you are in the wrong place. In my opinion, this applies to any job you do.

Ivan: I’m learning how digital marketing works and growing my creativity while working as a Traffic Intern. Also, I think I’m becoming more responsible. All these things help in building my future career. :)
