Behind the project
Heineken is famous for its ear for music so we made a unique recording studio. Fans across Cyprus, Slovenia and Albania created their own mixes using Heineken´s beer bottles and cans and got a taste of an authentic Heineken music experience.
The Heineken Sound
For a not so ordinary DJing session, fans were making music using custom Heineken instruments proving that beer bottles and cans can make beautiful melodies, too.
To capture the spirit of a DJing set, the green in the Beatmaster app was influenced by the shades of lasers used at parties.
Beats per minute function allowed an easy adjustment of a desired tempo, so fans could create any kind of electronic music ranging
For an authentic Heineken music mix, fans used actual sounds of clinking Heineken cans, bottles and glasses.
We added an on/off function to all sound layers meaning our eager DJs could manipulate every layer as they wished and produce endless rhythm combinations.
To make every element all about the music, the Beatmaster design was greatly inspired by the visual image of a soundwave.
Gamification & social events
After being recorded, all music mixes could be converted into mp3 format and downloaded by the authors as well as other music junkies.
Share the music
Music is made for sharing, so we gave every DJ an opportunity to share their tune with their friends and enjoy other fans´ beats. Recorded beats were put to a vote amongst other aspiring DJs.
